If you like guessing people’s ages, then Agester just might be the service for you. This networking site allowed users to upload a photo of themselves in order to have other users guess your age. That could go one of two ways: either you’re quite flattered, or deeply offended. Is that a risk that you’re willing to take? Apparently, some people took this age-guessing plunge, but it didn’t last that long. Also, the connection between people guessing your age and somehow making friends through the process was never really made clear by Agester.
Unfortunately, if you’re looking to get guessing online, you won’t have much luck. The domain “agester.com” eventually hosted a Japanese alternative medicine site, but has since gone up for sale.
The Bendy Wrist-Based Smartphone
This is where the iconic snap bracelet meets the smartwatch, except smartwatches are actually popular and useful. Why? That’s primarily because they stay in the same spot on your wrist. Of course, that didn’t stop this Kickstarter scam (spoiler: this wasn’t an actual business that was launched, though they did try, in a sense) from surfacing.
Sure, a bendy smartwatch is a neat idea, but we’ll leave the smartwatch development to the experts like Apple, Samsung, Garmin, Polar, and so forth.
Get Your Funeral DJ Setup Ahead of Time
Planning ahead is, generally, a smart thing to do. Financial planning, retirement planning and even planning out your meals for the week shows that you have the foresight to account for what’s ahead of you. However, when it comes to funeral-related logistics, maybe selecting the DJ isn’t the most important thing to consider.
MyFuneral is a bit of a silly website, letting the user choose who’s invited, and more importantly, who’s not invited to their own funeral. There’s really nowhere to pump up the party quite like your own funeral…right?
The Meet Pen
The Meet Pen was designed to help out with missed connections. If you saw someone that you wanted to introduce yourself to at, say, a party or another social gathering but couldn’t for some reason, you would click your meet pen in their direction. When that other person got home and checked their own meet pen (because of course they also had their own meet pen), they could be notified of the missed connection, and an introduction would somehow be facilitated through the service.
Really, we’re not sure how this one worked. Alas, we digress…
